The Siuslaw Region

The Siuslaw region of western Lane County Oregon stretches from coastal Glenada and Dunes City, eight miles south of Florence—the region’s hub at the mouth of the Siuslaw River—to the inland communities of Mapleton, Swisshome, and Deadwood which are 30 miles upriver.

This rural region is home to an estimated 20,000 residents. spread out over 560 square miles. The Siuslaw region includes and adjoins lands of the Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians.
