Looking for things to do in Florence Oregon this summer? Join the Siuslaw PlayShop & Demo Day—a hands-on, on-the-water experience where you can test paddle kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards in one of the most scenic settings on the Oregon Coast.
Hosted by Florence Oregon Area Kayakers and supported by local partners, this free event is perfect for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. Oregon Paddle Sports will be onsite with a variety of equipment available for test paddles, giving you a chance to find the right fit before you buy or plan your next adventure.
Enjoy short, practical talks throughout the event covering:
• Tides and water safety
• Using the Super Water Trails app
• Paddling fitness and technique
• Transporting kayaks and gear
• Local paddling routes and summer recreation opportunities
This event highlights why Florence is known as Oregon’s Coastal Playground, offering easy access to rivers, lakes, and the nearby Florence Oregon beaches and Florence Oregon sand dunes.
🍔 Free hot dogs and hamburgers will be served by the Florence Lions Club, and Darlings Restaurant will be open for additional food and refreshments.
