Basic Genealogy Class Series
The Siuslaw Public Library will be presenting a two-part Basic Genealogy Class series, on Tuesday, Sept. 22nd and Tuesday, Oct. 6th, at 10am each day in the library’s Bromley Room. Librarian Kevin Mittge will be discussing in the first class how to get started researching your family history, what free websites are available for research from home, what records are available and how to use them, and what resources the Siuslaw Public Library can offer. The second class will focus on DNA: what tests are available, what do you get when you test, and what do you do with the information you have received. Both classes assume little or no family history research experience. No preregistration is required, just come ready to ask questions and take notes! Librarian Mittge has been researching family history for over forty years and is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
