Nonprofit board members, volunteers, and staff in the Siuslaw region are invited to a half-day workshop designed to strengthen leadership, clarify responsibilities, and build financial confidence. Whether you’re a new board member, a seasoned volunteer, or a staff member looking to refresh your understanding of governance and finance, this training offers essential tools to help you lead with clarity and accountability.
Morning Session: Board Foundations
- Gain a clear understanding of what defines a nonprofit and how boards support mission-driven work
- Explore board roles, responsibilities, and governance best practices
- Learn strategies for effective board management and collaboration
Afternoon Session: Financial Leadership for Boards and Staff
- Deepen your understanding of fiduciary duties and financial oversight
- Get hands-on with nonprofit financial statements, budgeting, and grant budgeting
- Learn practical tools for financial health, fraud prevention, and compliance
- Special focus on supporting board treasurers and staff with clear guidance, templates, and resources
- Participants will leave with a stronger grasp of their leadership and financial roles, actionable tools to support their organizations, and connections to others committed to strengthening local nonprofits.
