Emergency Cold Weather Shelter – Florence
Help Keep Our Neighbors Safe This Winter
When temperatures drop, Florence’s Overnight Cold Weather Shelter opens its doors to provide warmth, safety, and dignity to our houseless neighbors. We need volunteers now to prepare for the upcoming winter season.
Volunteer Roles:
- Setup & Teardown Crew – Help set up in the evening & pack up in the morning.
- Overnight Hosts – Two-person teams (one awake at all times).
- Flag Posting Team – Put up “OPEN” flags.
- Meal Helpers – Serve food, clean up, coordinate donations.
- Drivers – Provide rides to and from the shelter.
- Communications Support – Post updates & help with outreach.
Why Volunteer?
- Flexible shifts – just a few hours or one week per month.
- Directly help keep people safe.Be part of a caring, committed team.
- Even one night can save a life!
