FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Florence Farmers Market Opens for Winter Season
FLORENCE, OR – October 13th, 2026 – As the weather starts turning, the leaves are dropping, and rain becomes ever more likely on the forecast, Oregon farmers are hard at work in the fields securing the fall harvest. October is a month of peak abundance in Oregon, bringing with it Pears, Apples, Pumpkins and Winter Squashes, Potatoes, Onions, Lush greens, Crunchy root vegetables and so much more.

Locavores in the Siuslaw region will have a new location to purchase from regional farmers and food producers all through fall and winter at Florence Farmers Market’s new Winter Season which opens on October 27th under the covered picnic pavilion in Miller Park.

The market will be open every other Tuesday from 4-5 pm, and shoppers will place their orders online at https://florencefarmersmarket.localfoodmarketplace.com/. Shoppers paying with SNAP/EBT can receive a match up to $20 worth of Double Up Food Bucks.

“We are excited to continue offering everyone a place to shop for high quality local foods all through the year. Our winter location at Miller Park will protect both vendors and shoppers from rain and wind. The online ordering system means shoppers can browse all the available products from the comfort of their couch, and still eat good all winter long.” says Linea Andersen, Market Director.

“There is nothing better than a hot pot of soup on a cold winter day, and we’ll have all the ingredients folks need right there at the market” says long term vendor at Florence Farmers Market, Steve Knox of Fog Hollow Farm.
