Free Gardening Presentation – Planting a Garden at the Central Oregon Coast
Siuslaw Public Library is hosting a presentation on Planting a Garden at the Coast on Saturday, July 25, from 1 – 2 p.m., as part of its adult summer reading program. The talk is free and open to the public and will be held in the Bromley Room of the library, 1460 Ninth Street, in Florence. Refreshments will be provided.
Three Oregon State University (OSU) Extension Service Lane County Master Gardener volunteers who live in the Siuslaw region will be presenting. Susy Lacer, Jacki Holien, and Rob Cuthrell will share information on:
• Basic vegetable gardening (planning, location, soil, containers, plant selection, maintenance)
• Growing vegetables year-round in our coastal climate
• Planting native plants for pollinators
• Combining edible and ornamental plantings
There will be time for questions, and handouts will be available.
