Mastering Grants: Siuslaw Vision’s Grant Workshop Empowers Local Individuals and Organizations
Our Siuslaw community is now better equipped to successfully apply for grants, thanks to the success of Mastering Grants: Tips, Tricks & Expert Insights! Over 30 attendees from Florence, Mapleton, and Deadwood representing more than 20 Siuslaw region organizations joined us to ask questions and deepen their understanding of the grants process.
A big thank you to Susy Lacer, GPC, for generously sharing her expertise with our community. Participants left feeling more confident and prepared to seek funding for their important work:

The morning session, Tips for Success – Best Practices for Grant Seeking, offered a practical “Do’s & Don’ts” overview—from identifying needs and assessing organizational readiness to researching funders and submitting strong proposals.
Attendees enjoyed a delicious lunch from Alpha-Bit Café in Mapleton and time for informal networking. In the afternoon, the Ask the Grant Pro! session allowed participants to dig into the details of grant applications, ask specific questions, and receive real-time feedback. We also shared insights from Western Lane Community Foundation and gathered feedback on their grant application process.
