Siuslaw Library seeks community input at May town hall meetings
The Siuslaw Public Library will hold two town hall meetings May 8-9 to share community feedback gathered during the strategic planning process. Library staff have spent the last month asking community members about their hopes and dreams for the region.
For those in Upriver Siuslaw, join the Town Hall Friday, May 8, from noon to 2 p.m. for a provided lunch at the Mapleton Lions Gym, 88158 Riverview Avenue, Mapleton. Florence community members are invited on Saturday, May 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Florence library.
Dr. Audrey Barbakoff, the library’s planning consultant, will give a short overview of what the library staff heard from the community through the community conversations and survey, and will invite participants to add to the information.
“This is a chance for our community to review what we’ve learned so far,” said Library Director Meg Spencer. “We’ll be asking, ‘Did we get it right?’ before we move on with our strategic plan.” Community members will be invited to share additional feedback. The meetings are free and open to the public. No RSVP is required. Refreshments will be provided.
