Tom Posegate Announces Candidacy for Siuslaw School Board

Local father, former educator, and active community member Tom Posegate has officially announced his candidacy for the Siuslaw School Board, Position 6.
“As a parent of three daughters in the Siuslaw School District and someone deeply invested in the future of our community, I’m running to help ensure that every student has access to a high-quality education,” said Posegate. “Our children deserve schools that challenge and support them, educators who are empowered, and leadership that listens.”
Posegate, who holds a bachelor’s degree in American History from Simpson University, brings experience as both an educator and a former facilities manager. He is running as a non-affiliated candidate and describes himself as a principled, compassionate, and thoughtful leader.
His campaign focuses on five key priorities:
• Strengthening academic excellence through support for students and educators
• Advocating for modern, safe, and functional school facilities
• Promoting transparency and accountability in spending
• Ensuring student well-being through safe and supportive school environments
• Engaging families and community voices in district decision-making
“I’m not running with a political agenda. I’m running because I care about this community and our kids,” said Posegate. “I believe in public education, in listening to our educators and families, and in making sure our decisions reflect the best interests of all students.”
