West Lane Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) Meeting in Florence

You’re invited to join the West Lane Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) for a regional conversation focused on strengthening collaboration, preparedness, and community resilience across the Siuslaw/West Lane area.

This meeting brings together partners from our past COAD sessions as well as new organizations interested in supporting disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.

Date: October 14, 2026
Time: 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm with open networking space afterward
Location: Bromley Room, Siuslaw Public Library, 1460 9th Street, Florence, Oregon, 97439

Who should attend:
All community organizations, service providers, government partners, nonprofits, volunteer groups, emergency resource providers, and neighborhood-based teams interested in building a connected, coordinated approach to community readiness.


 

Meeting Agenda

  • Welcome, introductions: who you are and what you do

  • Overview of Lane COAD and the vision for West Lane Chapter

  • Discussion: identifying volunteer leaders for chapter roles

    • Outreach

    • Volunteer coordination

    • Training

    • Partner fundraising coordination

    • Additional roles as needed

  • Next steps and first action items for identified roles

  • Brainstorm: fun and engaging community events encouraging evacuation-site practice

  • Gap analysis: who is missing from the room that should be invited?

  • Future meeting locations & schedule
